The amygdala is responsible for human emotional reactions including fear and the hippocampus plays the role of information interface within the brain. The two being close to each other form a neural network mechanism for memory that is called the limbic system. The limbic system is known as the peripheral part of the cerebrum. The term comes from Greek limbo, meaning "a remote region," "a border between this world and the other world". Or between the Apparent World and the Unseen World.
