Mizuho Nishikubo's new animated feature film, Giovanni's Island is closing film at the 11th Discovery Film Festival: Scotland's International Film Festival for Young Audiences, to be held in Dundee, Scotland, from October 25 to November 9, 2014.

Discovery Film Festival describes the film as follows:
"Vibrant hand-drawn animation, an emotive score and an element of the fantastical all contribute to the telling of a powerful story. Beautiful and sad at the same time, the film presents the horrors of war through the eyes of children, as they see the devastating impact on their own family and friends. An award-winning example of the finest in contemporary Japanese anime."

Started in 2004, Discovery Film Festival is now in its eleventh year. Based at Dundee Contemporary Arts, the festival screens films from all over the world which have been specially programmed for young audiences. Discovery aims to develop new audiences for the best in international film, improve media literacy and offer young audiences an insight into the lives of children and young people in other cultures.
