Yoshimi Itazu's directorial debut mid-lenght film Pigtails garnered two awards in two different categories of the 5th Best Shorts Competition 2016:

Award of Merit: Animation

Award of Merit: Original Song (Kami-sama no Takurami / Divine Design, by Ichiko Aoba)

Winners were announced on June 30, 2016.

Best Shorts is an avant-garde worldwide competition that strives to give talented directors, producers, actors, creative teams and new media creators the positive exposure they deserve. It discovers and honors the achievements of filmmakers who produce high quality shorts and new media.
