The Girl from the Other Side short film, directed by Yutaro Kubo and Satomi Maiya, has been selected for the short film competition of the 7th New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival (New Chitose 2020). The festival will be held at the New Chitose Airport Terminal, Hokkaido, Japan, from November 20 to 23, 2020.

Launched in 2014, the New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival screens animated films from all around the world at the terminal building of New Chitose Airport, which connects Hokkaido with the rest of the world. It is the first festival ever held inside an airport's terminal building, New Chitose has seen a constant growing in attendance, peaking over 43,000 in its 2019 edition, and this year the festival has received 2,174 short film entries from 91 countries and territories, confirming the event as one of the most prestigious animation festivals in Japan.
