Kazuto Nakazawa's suspense animated series, B: The Beginning was awarded the Jury Prize in the TV & Commissioned Films competition category at the 20th Bucheon International Animation Film Festival (BIAF 2018), held in Bucheon, Republic of Korea from October 19 to 23. B: The Beginning competed against 17 works, and received the highest recognition of its category. The series is currently streaming worldwide on Netflix.

Started in 1999 and celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, BIAF is the only Oscar qualifying film festival for animated shorts in the Republic of Korea. In 2018, BIAF received 2,412 film submissions from 88 countries, of which 121 from 30 countries made it into the final selection.
