Mizuho Nishikubo's Musashi: The Dream of the Last Samurai is invited in the official selection of the 20th Stockholm International Film Festival, to be held in Stockholm, Sweden, from November 18 to 29, 2009. Musashi is presented in Documania, the festival's section that showcases groundbreaking and experimental documentaries, TV-productions and art films.

Celebrating its 20th year, the Stockholm International Film Festival is now established as one of the leading competitive film festivals in Europe. With a passion for uncompromising artistry in current film making, the festival continues its quest for creativity and talent - pushing the boundaries of the art of filmmaking forward.

Director Mizuho Nishikubo blends classical narrative traditions with the most expressive aspects of Japanese pop culture. The outcome is an inspired documentary with a vital edge of mixed media. 3D animations, video game demonstrations and anime sequences inspired by silent cinema - all become rhetorical tools in this lecture, revealing future possibilities of historicizing.
